Sometimes we ask ourselves how many teams there will be in Sunday League. In this post you will know the real answer. Of course that registed teams its not the same as managers really playing, but its a way for you to know how are the other servers. We dont have the numbers from Leeds because the server was not ok today.

Season 38 on Everton

Everton is one of the smallest servers in SL with just 80 registed teams at the moment. The managers table was a big fight between the teams of the Conference 4. Blade Runners managed by Simon Wootton won the conference by goal average and also won the manager table and the ICC.

Meet the Manager: Flamur

Flamur is one of most experienced managers on the Piggy server. He is managing the teams KF PrIsHtInA-LiVe and FC PrIsHtInA and wich then has been on top flight for 21 and 30 seasons. Has won a little bit of everything in this server, lets heard about him.

How long are you playing SL?
Since 2004.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
winning Elite Cup/Interconference cup/Devision 4-1-1/SL official Super Cup/official friendly Devision 1 and a lot of privite cups, in one season. this was my best moment that I could think :-)

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
well is hard to tell b/c every season everyone could have a strong team if he/she has good players, as a result I would say Albanians/Croation/English managers are the strongest at piggy server.

What is your favourite team in real life?
BvB o9 Borrusia Dortmund.

Do you have any hobbies?
Soccer, every other sports.

What does attract you more on SL ?
No comment.

What are you expecting of SL08?
Hoping to be a better version then 07

Razvy is is known to all on Felix, mainly for his banter on the forums. But his team has slowly been improving and now he's in 1-1-1 he can hold his own against some of the big boys.

At the moment I have 3 teams I regularly play with, all on Felix : Blue Angel Dream FC,Moldavia FC and Dinamo RedAllstars

3.How long have you been playing SL.

I guess for about 2 years now but time passes by so slowly these days

4.What was your biggest moment on SL.

That must be when I first beat Redhill Rovers my mentor's team!Mark taught me the basics here and I thank him for that.And of course this season when I reached for the first time a big final in the I.C.C.

5.Who's your biggest rival on SL.

I don't think I have one but lets say Panathinaikos - Main Division rival for my first team,Blue.

6.Who's your favourite team in real life.

2 teams in fact, from Romania Dinamo Bucharest and from Italy Juventus Torino!

7.What else do you do in your spare time.

I don't have much spare time really,college almost fills it all but I like spending time with my friends,music(rock music), playing football,reading....just a normal life I guess.

8.What do you like about playing SL.

The fun stuff and the passion it's made in me....it's hard to let go you know and I hate to see that day coming sometime.

9.What would you like to see in SL08.

Nothing special really just surprise me!

Everton: Elite Cup Season 38

I was taking a look at Grubby-Monkeys team and i realize how hard it would be to match a starting eleven that could fit in this team. He really need to replace about 5 players that are losing stats very much.

Both teams starting this game in nutter with Blugeon, wich just shows that both wanted to win the game at any price.

The Pirates started the game with advantage so it was not hard to score. When they both were with the same tactics the Pirates scored again and i believe that this secong goal almost killed the game. Grubby took advantage after half time (with psycho!!!) and scored one goal but it was not enough. Fair win to Paisley Pirates.

Meet the manager: Rowan Morrell

Another top manager who will be known by all on the Felix, Oscar and Charlie servers. He managed to pinch the 8-1-1 title from the Redhill Rovers last season on Felix. A feat no one has managed for 12 seasons (well done mate) :)

3.How long have you been playing SL

I signed up on Oscar and Charlie in January 2006, and Felix in September 2006. So 2 1/2 years all up.

4.What was your biggest moment on SL

On Oscar: Winning three consecutive Managers Tables and finally winning the Elite Cup would rank first equal. On Charlie: winning every major final (11 now!) that I have ever been in, and winning six or seven consecutive CMLs at one stage. On Felix: FINALLY taking the 8-1-1 title off the Redhill Rovers!

5.Who's your biggest rival on SL

On Oscar: MADONE without a doubt, and Floriana FC in my division. Other teams of note include Chester City FC, West Herts Stags, Columbian Clowns and Jedi Knights. On Charlie: Wanderers FC and ramsgate fc within my division; Hellsnear Rangers FC, LUCIFERS DRAGONS, Ramsgate Reds, Stonehenge FC and The Sedgebeers Co. (among others) outside my division. There are also some teams I don't play that often, like the Crazy Gang, Team Cool and BillySharps Comeback, which give me an uncommon amount of grief. And let's not forget the ubiquitous Clowns ... On Felix: Redhill Rovers. Of all my rivals, the Redhill Rovers are by far the toughest and most frustrating team that I have ever played. Whereas my record against most major rivals is respectable (50% winning record at least), I think my winning percentage against the Redhill Rovers is about 10%! :-( And I'm pretty sure I haven't beaten them in the entire 2008 calendar year! There have been a couple of draws though.

6.Who's your favourite team in real life In real life,

I'm more of a cricket and rugby follower than a soccer one. But I'll go with Manchester United.

7.What else do you do in your spare time

Collect stuff, make Web sites about the stuff I collect, watch DVDs, read books, listen to my MP3 player and write children's mystery/adventure books (one of which I have actually self-published on Lulu, and it has so far taken the market by storm, selling one whole copy! Someone call the New York Times!).

8.What do you like about playing SL

I like the fact that I win a lot! ;-) It's a pretty easy game to learn. It also rewards good management and penalises bad management, which I appreciate. Although the match engine sometimes throws up some dodgy results, the vast majority seem pretty fair to me. All in all, the game is well designed and well run, and is by far and away the best of any of the CAT Games.

9.What would you like to see in SL08

A much better transfer market would help. The current TM is unmitigated crap. There used to be a lot more superstars on it. I don't know why that's no longer the case. The live in-game match reports sound like fun. Hopefully the match engine will be that much fairer as well.

10.Anything else you would like to say to your fellow managers

The Scarlet Pimpernel has been unmasked, but what the hey. I still aim to be demmed elusive for my Charlie rivals! And one day, God willing, I will beat MADONE in an Elite Cup game and defeat the Redhill Rovers before the ball in Times Square drops for 2009. After all, I won 8-1-1 on Felix this season, which is proof that miracles do happen.

Kitty Season 41 Round-Up

So, another season comes to an end on the Kitty server and another competitive season is behind us.

Manager's Table
This season's managers table went down to the final game of the season, and the team in 3rd before the final league match ended up winning the coveted prize. Cannon Fodder (managed by myself, Ross) had not been leading the MT at any point during the 2nd half of the season, and i'll admit that i didn't realise i had a chance of winning it until it was pointed out to me in the forum with 5 games left!

Cannon Fodder pipped New Fast Automatic Daffodils to the top spot courtesy of a lucky ET winning goal in the Champions Shield semi-final over the unfortunate Braids, manager of Sydney FC Hammers. The match gave Ross' side an extra 4 points and a place in the CS final, and a 2-0 win over 4th placed Ted's Tyrants in the final league game gave Cannon Fodder the MT win!. Had they lost the CS semi final, the Daffodils would've taken the title by 2 points. All quite exciting really :)

Teamtalk: ICC Final Season 44

Two very esperienced managers were in this ICC Final. Dean Hopkins managing Oldcastle Albion, and And Richard French for Byron Park F.C.

It was a game for longball but none of them opted for 5-2-3. Richard strangely starting the game using 4 in the front and 4 in the back. The game started with both using conter-attack in the first 30 minutes, but in fact none of them had more than 15 minutes in a row with advantage until Byron Park took the lead in tactics after minute 60. Nobody changed after this and this team scored after 31 minutes, in extra time. We can say that is a fair win, and Richard French has won his 17th big cup managing this team.

Meet the Manager: Craige Makinson

Craige is one of the most promising managers in Charlie at the moment. On his first attempt he has won conference 4, where is one of the biggest names on the Charlie Server. Many more titles will come for sure from Wanderers F.C., the team managed by Craige.

How long are you playing SL?
Well i started in Jan 06, then left for a bit and started back in Nov 07.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Im sure its yet to come! but last season wasnt too bad. I won my conference (4-1-1), runner up in Champions Shield and Friendly ladder, won Super Cup plus a few private leagues.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
All the guys in CML, but more recently Ramsgate, Scarlet Pimpernells, Defiance FC and Hellsnear Rangers.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Manchester United (I didnt always live in Dunstable before you ask!)

Do you have any hobbies?
My 20 month old son and SL of course!

What does attract you more on SL ?
The competition and the people on my server. We have a good laugh!

What are you expecting of SL08?
Erm....better competition (too many computer teams around) and i think just a general facelift of the site would be nice. Not too complicated though.

Talksport: Champions Shield Final Season 45

All i can say is that this is a strange report for two teams in a CS final.

The Comrades have one player slightly out of position (pos. 10). Glanford Park has two (2 and 10) and more one player injured all the game.

The first goal came in equals and for the team with more errors (Glanford).

This goal could have change the game (its very hard to suffer a goal in equals at the start of the game) but Glanford dominated next 45 minutes, so i guess he justified the win. Last 15 minutes were to the Comrades but it was too late.

Once again, taking a team as a caretaker Ty won the managers table in Planetfootball. This time managing the team Portdean. Oh well, what can i say? Congratulations Ty.

It was snowing a lot in this final, but that didn´t stoped Dirtier Sanchez from winning the Champions Shield.

The game started with both teams playing defensive, like no one wanted to risk. After the first 30 minutes Sanchez dominated the game till the end of the 90 minutes scoring 3 times.

Kitty Champions Shield Season 41

The current holders of the Champions Shield, Cannon Fodder (managed by yours truly), once again made the final in their attempt to retain their trophy. They faced a relatively new team to the server, One Size Fits All, who joined Kitty in late March and are managed by Jack (aka costellomusic).

One Size Fits All did tremendously well reaching the final, doing so with a team not as accomplished as other top teams on the server. And it was this fact that led to Cannon Fodder taking the Champions Shield trophy after a 2-1 victory.

One Size Fits All dominated the tactical battle 53-15 minutes, but couldn't take advantage against Cannon Fodder's more skilled side, and it was Cannon Fodder who took a 2-0 lead with 2 quick goals whilst on equal tactics early into the 2nd half. This prompted a tactical change by costellomusic where he took the tactical advnatage for the remaining 23 minutes of the game, but could only claw 1 goal back.

A harsh result for One Size Fits All, but i'm not going to complain :P

Kitty Elite Cup Final Season 41

The Elite Cup, one of the 3 majors, a trophy every team on the server wants to win. This season, one of the finalists wanted it more than the other, so much more in fact, that all he had to do to secure the prestigious Elite Cup trophy was to set up his team, something that Shelley Old Boys didn't manage to do.

Take nothing away from Kickstart Utd however, who have had a stellar season under the management of philly, having already won the ICC in style with a 5-1 win over Sydney FC Hammers. It's just a shame to see the finalist in the EC play 4-3-3 when his team is set up for 3-5-2. Well played Philly, you truly deserved your place in that final, and fully deserved the title :)

Season 47 on Felix

A very close season on Felix. Nobody won more than 1 title. The most important, the manager table goes to Redhill Rovers B. Won it after his first place on Conference 4.

It was snowing a lot in this game, and since the first minute when both teams entered in the pitch using a 5-2-3 formation that we all knew that would be dificult to find the winner.

Stella took advantage after the 15th minute and scored after 23 minutes.

The Clowns dominated in the last 30 minutes, but as they were playing 5-2-3 nobody scored... Inasin won but if this game were played in normal conditions the final result could be different. Well done anyway.

Season 43 on Liv 2

On the second server of Liverpool it was Ty Jones as a caretaker from Adam (wads) that made the best season on the server. A very close battle won by Ty just for 3 points, but if this wasnt enough he also won Elite and ICC Cup. Briliant... he must be the manager of the season.

My main team are American Misfits on the benny server, i also play on teamtalk, team name Damp Crotch, dont know why i called them that? I also manage Gut Bargers on the lycos server, and just started on planetfootball with the Misfits.

How long are you playing SL?
Just had alook, since October 2004 !

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Ive won everything there is to win on the benny server, but the biggest achievment has to be winning the ICC on Lycos server this season with the Gut Bargers. I started the team about 5/6 seasons ago and havent spent a penny on the team! Just gained credits from voting and winning the lower divisions.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Too many to list, so ill say all of the guys on benny server, weve got a good little community on benny. Great comps and banter along the way!

What is your favourite team in real life?
Norwich City, Being born and lived there most of my life.

Do you have any hobbies?
Anything rather than work!

What does attract you more on SL ?
As mentioned before, the guys on benny, and trying to win all the major comps.

What are you expecting of SL08?
A better transfer market would help! Also seeing the new competition when all servers merge into one. Should be intresting!

A game played with 5-2-3 against 5-2-3 so we all knew that would be a game with not many goals.

In fact, no one had more than 15 minutes with the tactical advantage. Generals Eleven took the lead in tactics for the last 15 minutes and saw the referee sending out one element of the other team at minute 89. Maybe that helped Generals Eleven scoring the winning goal at minute 91, but it was a very close one.

A very close game for a final, that could gone sooner to Subgenius but we needed to wait for extra-time to find the winner.

Subgenius controlled the game for 45 minutes in a row after minute 15 but just scored after the half time. Then it was time for the Clowns wich just scored after 14 minutes. Subgenius was a little fragile at the defense because he had one defender slightly out of position. After 75 minutes both shared the same tactics and it was just on minute 111 that the Australian manager scored the winning goal after the team of Ty Jones saw one of his players be sent out. Fair win, i guess.

Private Leagues: Champion of Champions 11 (Mogzilla)

The Champions of Champions its a very competitive league on Mogzilla that every season reunites all the champions from every Conference.
The great winner of the 11th edition was Dave Unsworth, managing the team "The Rods Too". Very close, just one point behind finished YourHavingaLaff F.C. managed by Gary Hope.

The game started better for Gary scoring the first goal in the first 30 minutes. The Felix Four had a little lucky scoring 1-1 when tactics were even and the game finished with this team with advantage wich game them the winning goal at minute 91. Second big cup for the Felix Four. Congrats.

First final ever for The Bash Street Kids in their 7th season on the server.

On the other side the NORFOLK ENCHANTS, a very experienced team that was playing their 12th final in this server. First half was all for Norfolk, even with the changes of the Bash Street Kids at half time. The winning team changed at half time and loose control of the game, but recovered at 75 minutes. Fair game, but i wonder why NORFOLK changed 4 times the advanced tactics when winning. But it worked.

Last season winners Rapid Lisboa were for the third time in a row in the Champions Shield final. On the other sine was The Valleys Commandos managed by Stuart Clement, ICC and Manager Table winners. It was enough to be a very close game, but the portuguese manager of Rapid Lisboa failed a lot in just using one advanced tactic. I know that sometimes this works, especially against teams that cahnge a lot, but this was a big final... Fair win to StuartClement...

I won the Champions Shield, Elite Cup, Inter Conference Cup, the Managers Table, and my Division all in the same season a few seasons ago on the man2 server but that server is nowhere near as hard as the other 2 I am on there is only a handful on managers who would be good enough to compete on the other 2 but still that is not easy on any server to win them all :) So that was quite good I also reached the Champions Shield Final on Piggy as well :) ...

Playing football, Going out with mates, Computer, PS2, playing Snooker/Pool anything like that...

What does attract you more on SL ?
The competitiveness is good I like winning big games as I am usually the underdog lol. The few seconds before you see your result in the morning for big Division and Official Cup games. I like reading the forums as well...

What are you expecting of SL08?
I would like it to be the same sort of game with the same basics so we wont have to get used to a whole new game I think a lot of people would leave if that happened. Also keep it simple dont make the game too complicated and take out the fun part. The Match Engine needs sorting out as well, no more stupid results. I'd like there not to be any formations that is stronger than the rest like 5-2-3 and 4-5-1. It will hopefully be very good with everyone in the same server competing to be the best in the game. And also better players on the Transfer Market more often...

From now on, Stuart will be our man on Man2. So soon maybe we will have some news fro him.

Would have to be Redhill Rovers. we started playing at the same time so he has been my closest rival. Plus we work together so games between us have that extra spice.

The mighty Chelsea. hope Scolari can turn us back into winners again as i hate comming 2nd.

Golf, Football (watching not playing as i like my Stella to much), Pool and drinking. the pub is my 2nd home. lol.

What are you expecting of SL08?
An improved match engine that dosnt throw up weird results every now and then. and just a newer feel about the game as it can get a bit stale. but all in all i think the SL team are doing a good job so i cant wait for 08.

Another server, another final for the Clowns. I believe bluenose could have done much better. He had his only striker right injured for this game, so why not playing 4-5-1? He prefered to play with one striker slightly out of position. One small mistake can make the difference in this game. Two goals with equal tactics but i believe bluenose has payed the price for his own mistakes. Ty won his third Elite Cup in this server.

Teams with more Cups in SL (part 1)

When SL08 start it would be very interesting to see how very competitive this game would be. Many teams fighting to win the big cups and other competitions. I´ve decided to create a list with the teams of the Sunday League with more big cups won (Champions Shield, Elite and ICC Cup).

I play on 3 servers (Benny, Kitty and joined Planet Football last week) and have 4 teams. Cannon Fodder is the name of my team, though i'm looking for a new team name for my other team on Benny, but haven't been able to come up with something i like yet!! (Suggestions will be welcomed :)

How long are you playing SL?
I've been playing the game for about 6 years, though my original teams are no more, my oldest team now is just over 2 years old on Benny.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
I suppose winning £50 on the old Daily record server must be the highlight. I've won plenty of elite cups, champions shields etc. But winnning cold hard cash was a great feeling!! (especially when the cheque arrived in the post!)

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
There are plenty of great managers that i come up against on a daily basis, but there are two managers that i have great friendly rivalries with and put in 110% to win every time, one being Braids (Kitty server) and the other Xellos (Benny server). Not got a good record against Xellos at the minute, he keeps beating me in the league and knocking me out of all the cups. I'm really starting to dislike the guy :P

What is your favourite team in real life?
I've supported Leciester City since i was a kid, but it's started to go downhill over the past few years unfortunately and doesn't look too great for the future either :(

Do you have any hobbies?
5-a-side football, working out at the gym, playing mates on Xbox Live and other management games such as Freekick.org .

What does attract you more on SL ?
I HAVE to win, that's the reason i keep playing. When i get to a point where i'm winning every game i might consider giving up :P
But while i'm still being beat and there's fierce competition for the top prizes, then i'm going to be right there in the thick of it!

What are you expecting of SL08?
A lot less people leaving and even more competition for cups. Hopefully there'll be a more stable match engine that gives out less random results than these days, as sometimes results can be really screwy.

Gareth Porter from Birkenhead in the Wirral. I was born on Rochdale, Lancashire but moved to Wirral 4 years ago to live with my girlfriend who i met on a Yahoo Pool. So you can say internet games have been very good to me.

I have one team in the Mogzilla server called Wirral Warriors in Conference 7. When i first started it was called Falinge Allstars. Falinge was the area i lived in Rochdale but for 4 years ive been Wirral Warriors.

How long are you playing SL?
Ive been on Sundayleague for 5 years now and it just keeps getting better. Ive always been on Moggy aswell.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Ive just win my 19th league title, chuffed with that i hold the record for Elite Cup on Moggy 5 times winner. Only won the Champ Shield Twice and the ICC once. My aim is to have the record for all the Cups so that should keep me going for ever.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
I like to say who i respect rather than rival, The Rods Too. Has been around for ages and won loads so shout out to him. Along with Calcio Pride, the godfather of moggy, very good team. And YourHavingaLaff who i class as the best team on Moggy. Hasnt been arounf for ages but he wins everything and tough to beat. Also a nice feller. Lots of others great managers and friends i have on Moggy, could go on forever. Why not join Moggy? Go on...Go on... Go on. You can do it.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Manchester United and Ireland.

Gary has made a festival of Sunday League this season winning with more 16 points than the second place. I believe it was the record of points in one season. The perfect season just with 4 defeats, not very normal in this league.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Winning your first major title is a big moment, but on Charlie server it was winning 4 World Cups consecutively, on Smokey server its winning the Champions Shield and Managers Table in my third season on that server.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
So many to mention as on Charlie although its quieter now, but long term pain in the backside include: Lowes A, Stonehenge, Lucifers Dragons, Bravehearts, Ramsgate Reds, The Scarlet Pimpernels and many other good managers that compete regulary in "Charlie Masters League" (CML) which is the servers finest forum league.

What is your favourite team in real life?
I have 2: Cardiff City (my home town) and Arsenal (since 1976).

Do you have any hobbies?
With work, 4 children and a wife to support, i don't have time for hobbies, unless you mean playing SL.

What does attract you more on SL ?
The forums for the banter, and its always nice to get the bragging rights on your particular server.

What are you expecting of SL08?
That it runs smoothly, without too many gremlins this time round, and a few extra tweaks to make it an even more enjoyable game, but not too many that is becomes a chore to do your teams twice daily.

Kickstar Utd looked like Holland playing against Italy or France. Even from a throw in they scored one goal.

Not much to say about this game. The winning team totally dominated the game. The Hammers had 20 minutes with advantage (5+15), but all we can say is that it was a fair game and give congratulations to Chris Phillips. This two teams are rivals in the same Conference and it looks like the team from Sidney is going to win by the 9th time in a row. Chris must be laughing at this moment saying "revenge, sweet revenge".

Two come to mind: Firstly, when I won the 2-1-1 title in my first ever season in the top division. Secondly, when I finally beat Hasan (Conquerers) after about 15 attempts!!

I have had many rivals along the way, but currently has to be Essex Exiles - it's friendly rivalry though.

What is your favourite team in real life?
I support two teams. Arsenal and Montpellier HSC (Ligue 2, France's second division). Meeting the MHSC players was great!

Just looking at both teams names, its not hard to imagine wich managers are behind those teams.

Both of them opted for playing 5-2-3 longball, wich means that will be a game with not many goals. The Clowns had a good chance to start scoring in the first 30 minutes but they did not score. Most of the game was close in tactics, but Ty dominated after minute 75 and the winning goal finally came in extra time, this time for the right team.

Felix Server: ICC Final Season 47

This was a game between two very different teams. One side there was the experience of Redhill Rovers playing his 19th major final in this server. On the other side and coming from Romania, Dinamo Red All Stars, first time ever in a big final.

Dinamo started the game with one player injured wich could not help very much, but in fact Redhill Rovers didnt have any minute with advantage.

The game was allmost all played with equal tactics until minute 75, when Dinamo took the advantage. Extra-time came, and the team from Romania finaly lost, killed with the random goal extra-time. I would not be very happy if i was Flavius Constantin, but this report just shows that this ME must be fixed in somethings. Congratulations anyway for Mark.

If you are from Piggy certainly you know Ken. He is the manager of the team Menagerie wich is playing in Conference 7 for the 9th season in a row. Always a manager very hard to beat, has won 1 Elite Cup in one of the most competitive servers around. Also is runner-up of ICC last season.

I have two teams on Piggy. Menagerie is my main team in 7-1-1 which I've had since I started on Piggy, and my reserves team; Honeyduke, which I am slowly building up conference 5 from 5-3-4.

How long are you playing SL?
Ooh well, I think I must've started SL on the Talksport server in January 2003. Then I packed up & moved to Piggy in the middle of June 2005. So I've been playing SL for 5 & a half years.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
DEFINITELY winning the Elite Cup three seasons ago. I'd been on SL for 5 & a half years and it was my first official cup I'd won! And considering the amazing teams there are on Piggy, it definitely felt good. This, very closely followed by winning SmoggerLand XV - one of the biggest private leagues on Piggy.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
All the teams on SL are rivals, especially in big forum private leagues where we all play each other. But if I had to choose, it'd be Harrys Ammers: Geezer. (My rival in 7-1-1, stopped me from winning the title many many times!)

What is your favourite team in real life?
Southampton! (I've also got a soft spot for Reading)

Do you have any hobbies?
Am a fitness/gym fanatic, but I also love music, singing, reading, socialising, films & TV, shopping, and of course the obvious, playing Sundayleague!!!!

What does attract you more on SL ?
Definitely the exitement of checking results in the morning/3.30pm, screaming when I've won, throwing a strop when I've lost... all adds to the fun of it! And I think its the attraction of being my own manager of MY own team, controlling transfers, setting tactics, choosing the players, training them up... Its the nearest I'm gonna get to managing a football team!

What are you expecting of SL08?
I hope it isn't too difficult! But MAINLY, I'm hoping there is some sort of function where I don't have to keep picking out my team for rainy/snowy weathers. My default formation is 4-5-1, and can be quite annoying when 2 or more afternoon tactics require me to change to the rainy weather formations, as they can take up a lot of time! So if I can change the formation with the team already defaultly set up, I'd absolutely love it!

Benny Server - ICC Final Season 47

ICC final on Benny, Xellos against toreve. Toreve was interviewed not a long time ago. He opted by using 4-5-1 wings in a game to be played with longball. Many managers said that use wings works fine with 4-5-1 in muddy or snow.

In this game it cant be proved cause Stonehenge just dominated for 15 minutes and its very hard to score against 5-2-3. Damage Inc dominated the game for all the second half so the win goes to xellos and nothing to say about that. Its never good not to change tactics for a long period of time, like Toreve did.

First of all, I would love to see some of the old managers come back. Talking about the game itself, I hope it will be the sequential successor of SL05. Dev team has been working on SL08 for months now, we have to respect that. As much as they have to respect us. When you look around these days, all you can see are few good men trying to keep their servers alive. They are the true quality of this game.

Jake Freestone, the winner of Conference 3 is the winner of the managers table. Many computer teams in several x-1-1 leagues but Jake won is Conference with 29 victories and 1 draw. Great season also for Marshmallow Marvels present in two of the big cups, and winning the Champions Shield.

A game between two Conference winners only could be a big match. With both teams starting the game attacking it was the change at minute 30 from Premier Sheep that made the difference for the first game. Marshmallow changed at half time and dominated till minute 75 wich gave him a goal. After minute 75 both changed to attacking and it was only the lucky goal to Marshmallow that made the difference. Very close game, but we can only have one winner.

Hellsnear Rangers FC the only team I have on Charlie.

How long are you playing SL?
Been playing since October 2004.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Had a few good seasons. The one just past I was ICC Champion, CML 32 Champion, 6-1-1 runner up and SL Offical Super Cup Runner up but I would have to say it was when I was CML 23 Champions. Inter Confrence Cup runners up. Cup Of Death Champion (Which was like CML but a one off knockout tournament worth 19,000 credits). And 4-1-1 Division Champions (Toughest conference around at the time).

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Very tough question.
I would give praise to allot of managers on Charlie but one that sticks out is The Scarlet Pimpernels. A very strong team who have picked up allot of titles in the short time they have been on Charlie.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Manchester United 18 years of support

Do you have any hobbies?
Play football for the Royal Air Force. Very keen golfer and motocross rider. Always up for a challenge so will give anything a go once.

What does attract you more on SL ?
Battling out to be conference champion and trying to win the CML. Would love to do the quadrupal one season. Also this season in the CML 33 we have had allot of interest and have made it into three qualifing leagues of 8 teams, with top teams from across the Charlie server. The top 5 teams from each qualifier go through to the final league of 16 with the highest 6th placed looser from the three qualifiers joining them. Everyone is looking forward to it and it kicks off in the next few days so for all intrested keep an eye out.

What are you expecting of SL08?
To be honest I am not sure. It would be good if the servers could join together so more top teams could battle it out. Apart from that I suppose its just a wait and see what happens situation...!

It seems a strange game to me. BabyRrrrrs is using 4-3-3 with passing wich to me seems to be a bad option but it worked. The Monkeys have the striker slightly out of position that may caused some problems to the team.

The first goal came well to the team with advantage but then the same team scored 3 goals with equal tactics with 4-3-3 passing.

In Tabby server, Valleys Commandos won his second ICC final today.

Perfect conditions for continental style of play but both opted for passing wich is also good in hot weather. There´s no doubt that Commandos is the stronger team after scoring his first goal with 33 minutes of both teams playing defensive.

The same team scored again after 12minutes with advantage and a third goal with equal tactics after all the second half with both using Counter Attack. Three goals may be too much, but the winner is fair.

Meet the Manager: Tore Vestre

Tore is natural from Norway and is the most recent winner of the very hard BML in Benny server. He is managing the teams Stonehenge FC in Benny and Charlie server, wich are like twin servers. His username is toreve, lets meet him a little bit better.

Tore Vestre, 27 years old, living in Molde, Norway.

Wich team/teams and in wich server are you managing?
I have two teams, one on Benny and one on Charlie, both named Stonehenge FC.

How long are you playing SL?
Started playing for real when I joined Benny and Charlie in 2004. Before that I played a couple of years on Kitty, but never that serious.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Many great moments, but my biggest moment is probably when I won CML 9 (a long time ago), my only CML title. Back then we had to challenge eachother through friendlies to make this private league, and despite of this fact I still managed to win the Friendly Table (friendly points was based on another point system than it is today).

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Too many to pick out one, so I just say all the teams in BML and CML. That should cover most of them.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Nottingham Forest. Come on you REDS! Soon back in Premier League :D

Do you have any hobbies?
Playing football, watching football, reading, computer, all kind of games (computer, board, card, rpg), TV-series, listening to great music..

What does attract you more on SL ?
The everyday excitement when checking your results, slowly scrolling down while holding a piece of paper in front of the final result reading the minute-bye-minute match report. Also, the great competition and reading the forums.

What are you expecting of SL08?
I just hope it stays simple enough. Too much advanced and complicated stuff would take away a lot of the fun I think. But better players in the transfer market wouldn't hurt.

I won 8-1-1 with a free credits team, which wasn't bad. In fact winning anything's good, because you've always got to get through at least a couple of tough games. I've won a few t-shirts :-)

Too many to pick out one - any of the Friendly League regulars, and a few dearly departed.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Liverpool (since early 70s) and Carlisle United.

Do you have any hobbies?
As well as this, still play football, and run a fantasy league. Girlfriend and son get the rest of my time.

What does attract you more on SL ?
When there's a good crack, and the Friendly League. But getting more limited for time.

What are you expecting of SL08?
That it's the same enough to not be learning a new game, and different enough to be interesting. And I hope they introduce some ways to reduce the time consuming stuff, or a way of staying competitively involved without it taking over every evening...

PTV2 Server: ICC Final Season 45

The final of the ICC on PTV2 was played last week between two of the most competitive teams in the server.

Marshmallow Marvels was still looking for one win in this competition after 3 defeats in the past, but it wanst on the 4th that he won for the first time.

Yarrys Hoops choose a 3-4-3 formation wich could not be the best to play in passing but won the game thanks to more time in tactical advantage. The winning goal came in extra time thanks to a goal scored with the bumcheek of God. As we know goals in extra-time came many times in randoom but this time it was for the right team.

Private Leagues: Friendly League (Planetfootball)

One of the more important and hardest private leagues in the Sunday League world. The PlanetFootball Friendly League started as a 6-team mini league on the PlanetFootball ‘General’ forum whilst SL was still on the ’03 version. The 6 teams involved arranged friendly matches against each other and a league table was manually updated on a daily basis. The actual format was very amateurish compared with the computer generated Private League format of SL ‘05, but was (as it is now) great fun for all. Over the past few seasons, the Friendly League has grown until a record of seven divisions, just three at the moment.
The Friendly League has attracted all of the ‘top’ managers on the PlanetFootball server and has given the managers of sides in the lower leagues an opportunity to pit their wits against the old heads in leagues X-1-1. We have also found that the Friendly League is a great place for new managers to develop their skills/tactics in order that they can win their actual conference divisions. The Friendly League has also given a new boost of life to our server and has brought about some good friendships and banter between players from across the globe.
Also makes part of this competition the Friendly League Cup, a tournment competion with the teams present in the divisions. This league also have great number of prizes thanks to the sponsors. Sponsorship comes in the form of generous credit contributions from FL members that will be allocated to the top three teams at the end of the season.

Hasan Saffour, 24 years old & live in London.

Wich team/teams and in wich server are you managing?
Only the one team called elite_one on the Arsenal server. I've visited other servers but usually to check the forums rather than build a team.

How long are you playing SL?
I started off in August 2004, so close to 4 years now.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
There's been loads. Let me think....probably the time I held all 3 majors as well as the official world cup. Winning the flame league is also a special moment as it sets you out as the best of the best on your server, and I've done that a fair few times.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Loads past and present. On the top of my head; johnny, dickie, sadam, pattherat, booker, goonarob, mfbourke, jonah, icky, piers, petter, piresisgod and loads more others...

What is your favourite team in real life?
The best team in the world...urm...that would be Arsenal if you didn't already know.

Do you have any hobbies?
Footy, tennis, table-tennis, volleyball, reading and going out.

What does attract you more on SL ?
Two main things. The fact that you're playing against real people which generates competitiveness and banter. Secondly, the forums, although it's died down a lot and sadly its heyday seems to have passed.

What are you expecting of SL08?
It's important to sort out the inconsistencies of the match engine, and the little bits and pieces that need fine-tuning. I believe that should have been the focus over the past year rather than the promised SL08 which has lead to many people leaving the game. SL03 was IMO the best version. Hopefully SL08 will re-ignite my passion for the game.

I won 4-1-1 on Benny with a team that I had never bought a credit for. That was fairly big. Winning 1-1-1 on Leeds 3x in a row probably was the most difficult thing to do.

Season 60 in Smokey

The manager of the season in Smokey was Chasing Memories (bluemagic). He had almost the perfect season, winning the managers table, Champions Shield and ICC and also Conference 5. Very unlucky for Ty Jones losing two big finals but i believe he enough shirts.

My name is Joe Spiteri, I've just turned 16 and I live in West Wales.

Wich team/teams and in wich server are you managing?
My team is Joe's Gooners on the Arsenal server. I have no other teams.

How long are you playing SL?
Since SL04, but I was under the name Joes04 back then, and I didnt really get into it until about 2 years ago, when I became joethegunner.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Reaching the Elite Cup final and narrowly missing out. Ive got about 6 league titles, 6 league cups and about 10 private leagues.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
One of my friends in real live, aza-aka-az, with the team The BCFC Robins. Another one of my friends, roboko, is another one. And of course the team that always wins the league.... Icky.

What is your favourite team in real life?
The mighty Arsenal! I met the team last year, watch them train and had lunch with them. It was awesome!

Do you have any hobbies?
Football, tennis, badminton, more football....

What do you like more in SL?
Finally being in the top division and fighting it out with my friends is great fun.

What are you expecting of SL08?
An easy to use, better version of SL with a ton of extra features. Should be good! Thanks!

Leeds Server: Elite Cup final Season 35

Davo won his 12nd major cup in Leeds server. The Retros, managed by Don Rogers was looking for his 2nd one.

Not many difference at the start, Davo has a little advantage because he has the best team in stats and started with tactical advantage. His second goal with equal tactics almost killed the game, but the last 30 minutes were crucial. Davo used "if not winning" two times and this time worked. With advantage in the last 30 minutes and better stats with was easy to score more two goals. Fair win.

Charlie Server: Elite Cup final Season 47

From now on, we will see also some reports from big finals. First one was todays Elite Cup final in Charlie. Not very strong sides but i believe Who R Day is a little stronger in stats. Who R Day choose the weaker formation in my opinion but did not made many difference in this report. Bakery has much time in advantage and deserved the win. Who R Day choose two times "If losing" wich is not a good option in my opinion. Especially in a big final.

Meet the Manager: José Manuel Almeida

José is a portuguese manager with some years of experience and a lot of titles in the bag. He started in the now closed portuguese server some years ago, and now he is showing is magic in three different servers. He is always under the user spain with teams called Sporting Clube PT or Ferrovial PT.

Hello, who are you?
José Manuel Almeida, Portuguese, 43 years old, married, two kids, living in Lisbon.

Wich team/teams and in wich server are you managing?
Benny with Sporting Clube PT. Playing here around three years. Is really the best server I know, where I have the best friends and where we can find the best Men. We get together around 20 teams in conference 811 and 812 and we make a very hard competition every season with great teams going down from 811 to 812. I love Benny and Benny loves me, eheh.
Planet Football with Ferrovial PT. Playing here around two years. Was the most competitive server, really, really hard. At moment many, many managers are giving up, annoying with same stupid results and waiting for SL08. A server with excelent Men too but also with same stupid guys.
Piggy with Ferrovial PT. Playing here around one year. A very good server too, with good people and very competitive too.

How long are you playing SL?
I started to play SL in the Portuguese server in 2001 / 2, so, around 6 / 7 years. One day in a sad morning and unexpectedly CG closed the Portuguese server and almost all my friends from there was gone too. There are still four or five old Portuguese friends playing SL. Chico is one of them.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
When I won my first Managers Table in Benny and I get a Man Utd shirt. Now I am playing to win a Celtic shirt but at Benny in 811 it is impossible.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
I have no biggest rival really but I hate to play against that managers who change tactics with no sense…
Ok, I know is no sense in my mind… eheh.

What is your favourite team in real life?
Sporting Clube de Portugal 4ever and ever… ah, and always against SL Benfi…. arghhhh

Do you have any hobbies?
Tennis, chess, read… in Portuguese, eheh, watch tv series, etc, etc..

What do you like more in SL?
The moment just before we see the results, when the page is oppening. That moment takes years of life from us, eheh

What are you expecting of SL08?
Better players in the transfer market, less stupid goals with equal tactics, or a reason to their happen, like better team status and the end of that super stupid random goal in the extra time, already lost 2 majors with that super stupid goal.

How long are you playing SL ?
I first started playing in May 2005, played for about a year and a bit then I quit due to lack of time. I then started to play again from February 2007 till now. That comes to about two and a half years.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
First one would be getting into the champions shield final, lost against Fiona in the final. The other recent one was to win 8-1-1.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Can't really pick one team that's my biggest rival. There is just too many quality managers to single one out. One team I always enjoy to play against is my fellow countryman Shannon Anns Booties - most of the time our matches always end up close.

What´s your favourite team in real life?
LIVERPOOL :-)

Do you have any hobbies?
Don't have any time for hobbies, work and studies take up all my time.

What do you like more in SL?
The competetive nature of the game and the banter, although that's died down a bit.

What are you expecting of SL08?
The most obvious one is a MUCH improved match engine. A better manager table system. Other thing I'd like to see come back is the beer cup, super cup and world cup format that they had in SL04.

I have travelled around most of the servers at one point or another, under many guises, but I'm currently in Benny's famous 8-1-1 division with BEB.

How long are you playing SL ?
I have been playing for over 7 years now and seen different versions come and go. Still think that SL'03 was the best time.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
I have no idea, its been a while since I won anything worth shouting about. I have made a lot of friends though and enjoy the banter on the forums and thats probably what keeps me here.

Oh god. Most servers on SL. The Ravens of England, Corinthian Clowns, Munkeespuzz Angels.

How long are you playing SL?
Been playing almost 3 years since i returned to the game after a break. But i was around right at the start for brief spells under different acronyms.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
Hehe....too many to list here. Had alot of success on most servers. But winning the manager table twice as a caretaker on PlanetFootball for another user was special.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
Too many to list. Every user is a rival on the field of play! ;)

What is your favourite team in real life?
Well, Liverpool is in my blood always and forever.

Do you have any hobbies?
Enjoying everything life has to offer.

What do you like more in SL?
I'm a great lover of the forums. Can't wait to see more activity and banter one day.

What are you expecting of SL08?
A dramatically improved Match Engine. More flexibility with player positioning. Faster server speed. Matches played at "exactly" the time stated, and no later than 30 minutes after that time. More interaction by the Dev team with users on the forums and via feedback. Lee is our only contact.
