Friendly League Interview: Billy Irwin

Billy is a Liverpool supporter who have just arrived from the Liverpool server. There, he was one of the most experienced managers and was leading the Friendly League in Liverpool when the server froze.
Billy is 37 and he is natural from Leamington Spa, a place about 8 miles from Coventry. He will be playing on Group E with the team HarriCam Wanderers (billyirwin)

What servers have you played before you joined Smokey?
Only played on Liverpool server before Smokey, at 1 point i had 3 teams on there, but only actively managed 2 of them, both winning major honours.

Have you played in any league like this in the past? Wich results did you get?
I played in the equivilant league on Liverpool server. When i started, Robb (Dirty Sanchez) won every season, but towards the end, i improved, and actually won it. I was leading the table in the last one also, but the server froze with a handful of games to go, so it didn't complete.

What are your expectations for this first season of the Friendly League and for the next few seasons coming?
I think i will do well to avoid finishing last in this first outing!! If i finish this season high enough in the table to avoid starting season 1 in the bottom league it will have been a good season. After that, i would hope that i can gain promotion quite quickly, aiming to be challenging in the premier division within 4 or 5 seasons.

Do you think this could be the most competitive league ever?
I think it will be. On Liverpool Server, we had 2 very strong leagues, and sometimes enough for a third, but on here, the best of the best are going to be trying every season, and you can see already there a 5 very strong leagues, and more queueing up to join - it will only get stronger.

Who do you fear most in your group?
No-one! i respect all of them, but fear no-one.

Who are the favourites in your group?
I suppose the obvious ones are Andor (if he sticks around), US Ebrohiques & Univ. Craiova, but i wouldnt be surprised to see any of 9 or 10 teams win.

How many teams do you think will join in the future?
That depends on how many new managers join SL! but potentially there could easily be 10 leagues going each season

Anything else you want to say about this?
On Liverpool Server, there was alot of banter about this competition. I hope that when it starts, each league sets up its own thread and gets the banter going, encourage the managers to introduce themselves & join in.

Thanks a lot, Billy.
