FL Conference Cup

This season, the Conferences and also FL5 will also have a Friendly League Cup, with 32 teams participating. Thanks a lot to cha4zz and mick for organizing it.

Chris Everitt, manager of South Shields and CHELSEA FC X has made a briliant review in the forum about the teams participating in this competition. I will post his review here on the blog. Well done mate:

England – Managed by one of the organisers of this competition, currently sitting 3rd in 1-1-4 losing only once. A strong squad of very young players and will be a tough team to beat with most players lasting at least another 6 seasons will just get stronger and stronger! Will be good to see in 1-1-1 in a few seasons time.

The Pink Charlottes – Goldie has assembled a very strong squad together has recently replaced most of their defence which means they are not quite up to full strength. But the overall squad strength is one of the strongest in the competition. 3rd in 2-1-1 and currently undefeated in the league.

Super Depor – Is currently rebuilding with the majority of the squad season 1 players. It will take a while to train these guys up to become a major force with the strengths of some of the teams on this server now. 11th in 8-1-2 which looks to be an all out battle to get into the top league in conference 8.

The One United – Stupac is top of 5-1-2 and ready after a short break to rebuild the team in time for 5-1-1 next season. The One United have quite a few new faces around the dressing room and with a few more expected to arrive shortly will not be the strongest team in the competition. But do not underestimate Stuart Riches.

Betty Swollocks XI – Alfie and his team are sitting one place behind Goldie in 2-1-1, although they are on exactly the same points. They have had to replace a couple of players and overall the team is strong and will certainly be no push overs.

Surreal Madrid – Sitting 4th in 4-1-1 after winning 5 out of their 7 games so far this season, Mickydoodle seems to be on top form at the moment. Not the strongest of stats throughout the squad compared to the “elite teams” but tactical awareness seems to be spot on.

Attack Attack Reserve – 2nd in 3-1-1 after a strange result and choice of tactics last night saw them lose their 1st game of the season and drop off the top of the league. The team is getting stronger and stronger and Mobtrio seems to have a knack of outwitting the opponents on at’s. Although not the strongest of squads, a very difficult team to beat.

U S A – Brads and the team are perched at the top of 2-2-3 as expected after winning 7/7 games so far this season. A good spread of stats throughout the squad and most players are only in season 3 so time to get stronger. The problem Brads is going to have is fielding a team  With teams playing nutter and psycho and others not turning up they could find themselves on the wrong side of a battering!

Liong united – Managed by Jackie are one of the weaker teams in the cup and I can’t see them going past the 1st round unfortunately. They are top of 5-2-2 but will need to purchase and get some friendlies arranged throughout the season to compete in any pl’s.

Cuban Villians – 5th in 2-1-1 only 1 point behind Alfie and Goldie and looking to mount a title challenge and knock Big Nick off his perch. A youngish squad who are strong throughout and will provide a challenge for any team in this cup. They have got to be one of the favourites and one that everyone will want to avoid!

IMPZA – An averaged strength side throughout the squad and I am not sure why they are struggling so much in the league. A few new faces but may struggle if their league form is anything to go by. Although could give any team a challenge on their day.

CageCraft United – 4th in 1-2-1 have only lost once so far but not the strongest of leagues to be fair. All season 1 players in a brand new team. Some potential in the players purchased but will struggle against some of the stronger teams in the competition.

CSKA Sofia – 1st in 8-2-2 with a 100% record intact so far this season. Again not the strongest of challengers for the title but still winning the games. A fairly strong squad but is plagued by injuries and awols at the moment. Cskarev will need to get his guys in serious training and rest some players in the league wisely against some of the nutter/ psycho teams in the league.

Sharks Teeth – Greg finds his team just inside the relegation zone in 8-1-1 but only on goal difference. A very tough league and don’t be fooled about the strength of this team by the league positioning. A strong set of stats spread across the team with a few season 1 players thrown in the mix. =They have the potential to do well in this cup.

FK Pobeda – Are 4th in 5-1-1 and hav won 5 out of their 7 fixtures in the league so far. If they had won last night they would be top of conference 5! Robbo44 has pulled together a strong squad with a mixture of maturing and fresh players creating a strong opposition for most teams. May cause a few upsets if they get a run going.

Notvery Athletic - Undefeated in 5-1-2 and sitting in 2nd behind The One United winning 6 and drawing 1 from the 1st 7 fixtures. The squad is strong all over and with some season 1 players and the majority season 3 looks like this team will be very strong in a season or 2. Mike Basset t will give others a run for their money if they can get over a difficult 1st fixture.

Turkey Allstars – 2nd in 7-1-2 and have a very strong starting 11. On stats they have to be one of the clear favourites and will be a team that if they progress people will want to avoid in the second round. A Maturing team all season 6 players who now will be capable of beating the best if they can get their tactics correct.

Harchester Legends – Jaymz has so far won 3 lost 3 and drawn 1 in 4-1-1 where they sit in 8th place. A strong overall squad and will give Galatasary a run for their money in the 1st round. The manager will be hoping for a good run and will be disappointed if they don’t reach the later stages 

Craven cottagers – 3rd in 7-1-3 1 point off of 1st place and will be hoping to be up with the big boys of 7-1-1 in 2 seasons time. Jimbo has a mixture of new players and strong experienced ones, a strong opposition and very tactically tuned in. A tough 1st round like many but if they win then they could go far.

Shannons Nuclides – 2nd in 3-1-4 but still favourites to take the league and continue their climb towards the top league in conference 3. Avery strong squad of players and will be extremely hard to beat and another of the favourites to lift the cup. Jimbo has his work cut out beating this team.

Screaming Vengeance – 1st in 4-1-4 and 7 out of 7 working their way through the leagues. A fairly strong squad but the defence is slightly weaker than some of the favourites in the cup. Will be difficult to beat but the stat strength of others might just edge them out of progressing very far.

Queenslander – 8th in 1-1-1 after losing their last 3 games on the bounce. Don’t let this fool you a very difficult team to beat and will hoping to lift this cup or at least make it to the later stages. An old veteran to the SL world and they will not be taking any prisoners!

Fishermans FriendTwo – 6th in 2-1-2 winning 4 out of 7. Lost heavily yesterday in the conference game between their 1st round opponents but cups are all about surprises. Strong stats throughout the squad and the rematch should be a lot closer.

CHELSEA FC X – 1st in 3-1-4 and will be hoping to stay there come the end of the season after missing out to Atomic last season. A very strong midfield and a strong overall squad will make them a difficult team to beat. Zola is hoping to reach the later stages of the cup.

The Blurred Crusade – currently 8th in 6-1-3 and will be looking to improve this position come the end of the season. Steve Kilby will hoping his team can find some form and with a fairly strong squad may be capable of causing a few upsets.

Stirling House Crew – Barronboyuk and his team are undefeated in 7-3-1 and shouldn’t have any problems lifting the title this season. The team is building nicely and all players in season 3. They may struggle against some of the elite stat teams but has every chace of causing a few upsets. Maybe a season or 2 early for them.

Fivehundred Or Less – Basketcase and the team are 5th in 6-1-1 with only 1 defeat from 7 so far this season. An overall strong squad and every chance of a decent run in the competition. I wouldn’t bet on them against one of the favourites though….

Totton Saints – 3rd in 5-1-2, another team from this division. Will be hoping for a cup run and promotion this season but I feel they will fall short with very difficult opposition in the cup and although they should get promoted the title might be a bridge too far.

Brazil United – 1st and undefeated in 1-2-4 as expected. All season 1 players and they need some training. Gull will have to have the upper hand on tactics for most of the matches if they want to go far in this cup. My opinion is need a lot of tactical advantage and plenty of ME luck to go far.

AFC WIMBLEDON - 11th in 7-1-2 and have lost more than they have won in this difficult division. Bruce has strung together a fairly strong team but will struggle to hold its own against one of the so called “Big Boys” A good chance in the 1st round but tround 2 is as far as they will go in my opinion.

South Shields (SPAIN) – 6th in 1-1-1 after a disappointing season last time out. Will be pleased with a top 8 finish in a very difficult league. Has a strong squad and should be one of the favourites. They seem to prefer knockout tournaments to leagues (reminds me of Liverpool). Should go on to the final rounds but with so many strong sides who knows ?

FatKidsAlwaysWinAtSeasaw (Portugal) – The other mastermind behind creating this competition! Mick is 3rd in 3-1-4 behind Chelseafcx and Shannons Nuclides making them the 3rd team to enter from this division as well. A new squad of players all in their 1st season may struggle especially facing one of the favourites in the 1st round. "
