Friendy League - Season 8

This may be the hardest competition ever seen on SL. This season it will be played by a record number of 124 teams if everybody joins. the leagues have started to be set up today, and is waited to be filled in the next few days.
Its time to do a little preview of what is expected this season.

Brucemcc Fl1
This is really the top. Preview the winner in this league its the most difficult thing to preview. In the past seven seasons we have met six different winners, and only one team did it twice. A portuguese team, Xanoca. Even the mighty Anfield Rd Rangers, winner of 8 Majors in the past ten seasons have won this only once.
The other four winners are FC Haag Utd, The Rods, Floriana FC and Biscuit Barrell. Can someone of then did it again?
Imagine that last season´s winner, FC Haag Utd, was 13th two seasons ago. And the winner in season 6, Floriana FC, was 11th last season. This means that anyone can win this, right?
Only three teams are in this Competition since the start, and never have gone down: Anfield Rd Rangers, always very close to the top, UNIV. CRAIOVA, wich was very close to win last season (is it this time?) and The Jakes who struggled a lot last time.
Other teams to watch, that can be a dark horse at any time are: Down and Dirty (4th season in this league), HarriCam Wanderers (7th season in this league), Byron Park F.C.(here for the 3rd time), Hoarse Whisperers and American Misfits, both for the second time.
Then, came the new guys. This season they are three, and as we have seen in the past, newcomers can always make surprises. The Rods, Floriana and the Biscuits won it in their first time, so why not a win from a newcomer in the season 8 again?
The three newcomers are Madbastid United, coming from Conference 1, one of the hardest at the moment; Lough Derg, a team that have survived very well in Conference 8, and a manager i know very well since the old days in Planetfootball, mr Carl Jones and Castle Ford Warriors, a team promoted this season to 7-1-1.
Well, its very hard to predict, who will win. But one of those teams will be for sure.

Floriana FL2
Sometimes its harder to get promotion to division one, than to survive in there. This time we will have 11 ex-division one managers.
Last season relegated teams from division 1 were surprises. some of them were in that division for some time, but to stay there they need all the attention possible. In the past we have seen that to a relegated team, its difficult to get promotion in this league. But lets see what Arkansas Indians, Donkalonk fc and Jellybellies do. All of them were Conference champions in the past. Not last season.
Sydney FC Hammers and YourHavingaLaff F.C were two teams that started in Division one on the first season. since they got relegated from there, have been struggling to reach the top again, but they are back to division 2, after playing in FL3 last season.
The eyes will be also on Valleys Commandos, who won Conference 8, maybe the hardest one, but last season he ended not far away from relegation in this league.
Ghandis Peace Corp, winner of Conference 6 in the last three seasons, and failed promotion to division 1 by just a little bit, is another team to be respected. in my view, maybe one of the favourites.
Looking at the other teams in the line-up, its difficult to say wich are really the favourites. Each game will be a final for sure.

Zola FL3
With a faster look at the line-up, the three teams promoted last season, can give ups another glorious battle in this division. Especially Football Kingz FC and Winter Milan two teams to look for.
Attack Attack Consilidated was one of the surprises of last season almost beating the Biscuits in Conference 5. In a big form, he could have something to say.
Aston Villains, Kookaburra, Lucys Tigers, Bush Wanderers... Well, all of them seems to be at the same level. Let´s see who really can reach the objective of promotion.

Madbastid FL4
This is my division, but i was really lucky to get promotion, ended in 5th place on FL5.
From the 7 teams promoted last season, i can see 3 or 4 fighting for promotion. A special attention for Super Imps. My old partner from Conference 8 in Benny, and a team that have only met the victory in Smokey Friendly League. After wining the Conference he also won FL5, so lookout with him.
Ted's Maulers FC and nofirkinchance f.c have made a interesting battle with the Imps last season... What about this one?
THE ELITE who failed promotion by just one point, could have a word to say against this guys, and also others like West Yorkshire Boys, and Corinthian Clowns, and others.
Some of these teams are very familiar to me, and i know that in their best days they can give a lot of a fight and i´m counting with them to do it. I´m talking about South City, Realale Madrid and Real Kellyville.

Alek FL5
The promoted teams from the Conference will meet here, and i think they will be the ones to give more fight.
After a first look, only one team can be considered favourite. Lagerfield, a team who joined last season the Friendly League, and could have been the best one in the past season. He won two majors and Conference 7, so wherever he goes, he only could be considered favourite.
Then came two new guys, with very young teams that have made some great games against top teams. Ocean City Orioles and The Borg have a great chance to be on the promoted spaces. Lookout also with Northwest Rags and Menagerie who promised to give more fight this time.
From the relegated and teams that were in FL5 last season, there are also some who can say a word about promotion: CHELSEA FC X, Sharks Teeth, MAD ONE are just some of them.
