The most important private league on Benny has finished yesterday, with the win of the portuguese José. He was in the lead for almost all the competition and won with confortable 11 points in the lead. Here´s the final table of the 3 divisions this season.

One of the old legends in tabby, nijinsly was trying to win his 11th major cup but someone called The Life of Luxury came on his way. It was after Nijinsly cchange to defensive at minute 15 that oli6493 scored two goals in 30 minutes. Very cloe game in the second half and The life of Luxury won very fairly the game.

A close competition this season, but the eventual winner, Lowes A, held on to the number one spot for a long time and only lost 4 games all season. Only one team didn't really compete due to Internet problems and as the season went on it proved that anyone could beat anyone with the middle of the table being very close. Last years winners Hellsnear Rangers put up a gallient defence of their tittle with a respectable 3rd place (Just piping me in the final few games!!) Another strong season for The Scarlet Pimpernels show that he is far from a spent force in this conference as some might of suggested last season. There are rumours of the Champion retiring for next season, but those of you that know Icky wont believe that for a second.

Lets hope that the biggest and best private league on Charlie is just as close next season.

Season 48 on Charlie

Postie22 managing the team Sunderland. was the great winner of the managers table in Charlie Server. He did not win just the managers table but also the Champions Shield.
Another final and another win for The Scarlet Pimpernels, with a very concludent 3-0 in the Elite Cup final and Chrisdefiance managing the team Defiance won the managers table.
In the conference battles icky won the one who seems to be the hardest, conference 2. The Sedgebeers Co won Conference after a 4th place last season and The Scarlet Pimpernels won th battle against craige this time.

Season 61 on Smokey

Another season, another manager table or Ty Jones. This is the day after day for Ty this tim in one of the biggest servers. After a great season in conference 6 he won the managers table.
Two curious things, Ty reached with his bth teams in the ICC final, and Doc Robertson also reached with his both teams in the Elite Cup final. Two interesting games you may think. Finally the Champions Cup final was won by Reject City II, a new team wining one of the majors.
Finally in the Conference tables, 6 of the last season winners were repeated and there are two new champions on Conferences 2 and 3.

Many tactical changes in this Reject City II first win. Nobody had more than 15 minutes in a row with advantage so the goals could have gone to either way. Reject City had more periods with advantage so we can say that the win is fair.

Season 43 on Chelsea

And the managers table goes to Romania. Mihai Stamate is his name and he manages the team FC BARCELONA under the username eaglesflyinhigh. Mihai won the conference 3 just wit victories.
Another great season for Hammerettes managed by noname. He also won his conference just with wins but the Conference has less human managers than Conference 3. Noname like he did last season also won two of the Big Cups. This time was Elite Cup and ICC and the CS goes to Eastern Lions F.C (mfbourke).

Season 54 on Arsenal

Sadam did not have many problems in wining Conference 3, and with that the managers table.
All the three big cups went to different managers but icky managing Lowes A was in two of them, wining the Champions Shield but losing the Elite Cup against Gunners United FC (gohan).
Finally the ICC was won by Conquerers (elite_one).

Season 59 on Piggy

Sorry for not posting match reports at the moment but the problem is that many servers are ending at the moment (9 in 4 days), but i will post again reports soon. In Piggy the season has just finished once again with Kosova teams dominating (4 in the top six). Kosova- Rolex after a great season in Conference 7 also won the managers table.
In the big cups, Coulsdon Casuals (sirgd), almost did the double after winning the Elite Cup, but Corinthian Clowns beat him in the CS final. The ICC went to flamur, managing the team KF PrIsHtInA-LiVe.
Here´s the final standings of the season, with Valleys Commandos and Medak Pocket wining the hardest Conferences around.

Season 46 on Manu

Manuck was the great winner of the season. Even not winning his Conference (by goal average) he won the managers table against one of the Ty´s teams. Just a curiosity, Manuck and Ty are rivals in 2 different conferences, both won one by goal average.
Both of them also won one of the big cups and the ICC went to Republic of Mancunian. I wonder where is this republic...

Season 46 on PTV

Paul Kinzett, manager of Pigeon United was the winner of the manager table. Won Conference 5 just with wins and he seems to me that he was the only rellay playing in his Conference.
Jellybellies must feel a little badly after losing to major cups this season and nofirkinchance f.c beat the winners of the managers table in the final of the CS.
PTV seems to me a server very populated but with not many competition.

Season 53 on Liverpool

One of the hardest servers at the moment in my opinion. Mickey Jones aka barrowlad manager of the team The Cumbrian won the managers table after wining Conference 5 just with one draw and 29 wins.
The rest of the big competitions there was a big rivaly between the two stronger teams in tittle Dirty Sanchez FC and -Star Trek FC-. Both reached two finals, but Sanchez was better after wining both of his finals and Star Trek just one, the Champions Shield.
Also a word to Adam Wadsworth that you may know as wads for wining Conference 8, the hardest on Liverpool.
Conference 1 is also very hard and Dirty Sanchez lost it to woodman rovers after a draw in the last day against The Summoners.

Mogzilla Elite League has just finished today. One of the hardest private leagues in Mogzilla was dominated by The Wezzies, managed by Jon Toyne, from the start till almost the end of the season. In the last day YourHavingaLaff F.C. managed by Gary Hope, took the lead and won this league just by two points. Congratulations to both and see you next season.

Mr Ty Jones cant win every time, and this time manuck won this game very fair. Even like this the first goal came with both teams playing defensive. After half time the Clowns made the normal change when is losing, changed to counter attacking but with the first goal in equal was hard to recover. THE ELITE dominated all the second half and won the game for 4-1.

Fair win but the luck of the game could be different if there wasn´t a first goal in equal tactics.

A very boring first half with both teams playing Conter attack and no goals for every side. After half time MADONE took advantage and right 2 minutes later scored his forst goal of the game. Sandy United changed next and controled for the next 13 minutes but without any goal. MADONE controled the game till the end and scored one more goal in equal tactics.

Thats the 6th Elite Cup won by MADONE. Many congrats.

Valleys Commandos and Valleys Warriors on Piggy and also help out with Izzys Big Sis (girlfriends' daughters team)
Valleys Commandos on PF and tabby.

How long are you playing SL?
Since Jan 2005 on piggy and always been in Conf 8, much better than conf 3.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
I've had a few. Winning the CS on piggy with my main team and second team was pretty good.

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
On Piggy has to be Dan (FC_aa_Utd). Joined just after me and been rivals in conf 8 every since.

What is your favourite team in real life?
The one and only Liverpool.

Do you have any hobbies?
Apart from work which isn't a hobby, my 4 month old daughter Isobel is my main hobby now (don't tell the missus I called it a hobby!). still find time to rugby, football and golf though :-)

What does attract you more on SL ?
Winning back my 8-1-1 title on piggy, its been away from me now for too long .

What are you expecting of SL08?
More consistent match engine would be a good start. Other than that, just can't wait to see what CG have been working on. Would be nice to see some of the old managers back.

The big thing is that the winning goal came in extra time with Peps having one player injured and other sent out. I believe that this goal was scored for the team with 9 players in the field against 11. Very unlucky for Jellybellies but goal in extra time is still random. What about 2-5-3 with passing, is it the ultimate formation to use?

This final was between both teams with better history on Liverpool server. We all though it was going to be a close game but Sanchez scored his first goal with equals just 22 minutes after the start of the game. This goal broke all the advanced tactics from Star Trek. Robb took advantage from this minute untill 60´and he scored another goal. Another goal in equal to Sanchez at minute 64 and nothing to do for Star Trek. In my opinion -Star Trek- failed chosing the formation, i´ve never seen 4-2-4 being very efective.

Congrats for Rob who just won his second Cup this season, he also won ICC.

Season 41 on PTV3

So, the season is over in PTV3. Jellybellies managed by iwopp03 was the great winner of the season. Conference 3 is the conference with less computer teams, and he won the battle against The Lost Sheep against whom he won both games and that made him winning the managers table. The Lost Sheep and Angels United managed to reach two finals against each other with both winning one competition. The Champions Shield went to Guinea Pig Rangers.

PTV3: Champions Shield Final Season 41

In PTV3 seems that its always the same 4/5 teams reaching the finals. The pigs from Guinea reached their 24th final, and cock a snook reached his 11th. If this was in any of the big servers i would say that they were really good. Both teams choose two formations not very seen in SL, 2-5-3 and 5-4-1. I really dont know what to say about this report. The Guinea Pigs acored just with two minutes of advantage, the oposition team had 1 hour of advantage and scored zero. Both startings eleven seems to be ok, so i dont what was wrong. Maybe 2-5-3 is rulling again... But if you want my advice, dont choose strange formations.

Two of the teams with better history in PTV3, Lost Sheep was playing his 15th final and Angels United was playing their 22nd Cup final... amazing. I´m sure that they have meet before in another final but this one gone to Angels United, for playing counter attack all game controlled the team managed by Russ Sims. Just in the last 15 minutes after changing to defensive Russ scored his honour goal.

Question: How many Conferences in SL08?

We are still waiting for SL 08. I hope it will start this year, everywhere i am i just can see people disappointed waiting for the new version.
This is not the point at the moment, i would like to do some questions about SL08, and today here´s the first one. As you know we will be playing in just one big server and there will be a way to find wich is the great SL king. Most of us have teams in several servers (myself i have 4 at the moment in 4 different servers) and Catgames have promissed that there will be one single pyramid.
The question is, what do you prefer:
1) 8 conferences like it is now, and managers with several teams can play with them in different conferences.
2) 1 single Conference, and this way there will be just one first division where you can find really the best player in SL.

Yeah this game can be frustrating but I hope SL08 will be a more user friendly site my only problem I have with the game at the moment is how slow and time consuming it can be this must be improved ! It’s a top game though!

Azzurrini Prodigies (whatever_trevor) one of the most famous teams in Moggy was completely smashed in this final. Aparently there is nothing wrong with both teams and i believe the only difference here is the formation, and i´m sure Stella Junkies must have better gelling/morale/fitness...

Stella Junkies scored 3 goals in equal tactics, first one just after 25 minutes.

Private Leagues: Liverpool Friendly League (Liverpool)

Today has just finished the Liverpool Friendly League, one of the hardest around without any doubts. It looks like Dirty Sanchez FC (robb) run away with the title one more time. I´m not sure if there is 7 or 8 in a row, only god knows.
First a brief introdution by Terry one of the members of the board and then you can see the final table. Thanks a lot for your help Terry.

The Liverpool Friendly League started out in Jan 2007 as a 12-team Private League for the top teams on Liverpool server, with the aim of livening up the forums. The Liverbirds Shield was a success, and so many others wanted to get involved that the next season had a Premier and Championship each with 16 teams. Jimmy (anji) and Robert (cliché/lotus_blossom) were involved in the Planetfootball Friendly League, and decided to set it up along the same lines, with teams promoted and relegated between four divisions, and a 64-team Cup. Generous sponsorship from a handful of managers meant there were plenty of prize credits available in each division, and CatGames also contributed extra credits for the Cup. The Spirit of Anfield FL Cup is a permanent name, remembering the many highs, and a couple of lows, of our great club and the home it will soon be leaving. The names of the divisions change each season, honouring Liverpool’s great players and managers. Almost all the top managers on our server take part, but it allows up and coming managers to develop their skills and tactics as well. Most importantly, it stimulates banter and friendships, and makes the game worth staying with. We’re in the tenth season of the Liverpool FL proper, and though we’ve contracted to just three divisions, and 32 teams in the Cup, the competition is just as intense. Not that you could tell from the roll of honour; as well as winning the two Liverbirds seasons, Jimmy’s Liverbirds won the Premiership in FL seasons 1 & 2, and have won the SoA Cup 3 times. But that’s been surpassed by Rob’s Dirty Sanchez, who have won it the next seven seasons in a row, and achieved the League & Cup double 5 times. Hopefully, it’ll keep on running for a long time, but hopefully Rob’ll let someone else win it soon!

Private Leagues: Friendly League - Season 40 (Planetfootball)

In its old days this league was maybe the hardest private league to win in all the Sunday League world. From 7 divisions in the best days its now reduced to 2 divisions. Piggy: ICC Final Season 58

Two of the top teams in piggy (both were already interviewed for this blog) have met in this big final. It looks like flamur dominated the game but his first two goals came in equal tactics, very unfair in a final like this.

If you look with attention you will see that before the winning team score those two goals they had a period of advantage in tactics. I´ve seen this happening several times, so maybe there is a pattern why teams score in equal tactics. Who knows...

In the end i believe the result is fair to flamur. Congratulations.

Because I have unfortunately had to work with the "Stella Junkie" Neil for about 7 years and I've painfully known Don Gargon of the "Coulsdon Casuals" for about 15 years its obvious these games have extra spice although it is only Neil that really gives me a game of the two! And in 8-1-1 (felix) i've had a long running battle with Rowan of the "Wombles of Wimbledon" , Up until last season i had always come out on top, he is the new champ and i'm gunning for him!

I dont want to brag about winning. So i wont go on about how my boys managed to get past some very good oposition on route to the final. Ending in a top class performance against a top manager. So i wont. lol

All there is to say is it was a close fought battle with 2 top managers which i came out on top.

I havent seen anyone playing 2-5-3 for a long time, until i saw this report. Bush Barbarians is doing it but just for passing games. He hasnt change his tactics during the game one single time, after a start with advantage he scored after 14 minutes. Its strange that the second goal in equal tactics came for the team using 2-5-3 against 4-5-1. After this the game was won, last 30 minutes was just enough to score one goal for Jellybellies.

Teamtalk is a small but friendly server with several top managers. Ty Jones again was the man of the season with his Ravens of England. Another final involving Ty Jones, this time against a team coming from USA, Oldcastle Abion. I think Oldcastle played the weakest formation in this game but really there is not much to say about the report. Both teams scored in the right time so i think it was a fair win. Ty won his 6th major cup with this team and i wonder how many he did with the other teams.

A very experienced Dirty Sanchez was playing his 19th big cup final against a team that was there for the first time. I believe they were nervous. The game came equal in tactics from minute 15 to 60 but Sanchez change gave him advantage and goal in the same minute. Then came Harrican changes wich i believe were a mess. Right next to the goal from the opposite side he changed 3 times. I believe he used "if losing" 3 times, wich in my opinion is a big mistake. Here could have worked cause Harricam took advantage after these 3 changes but he changed again at 75' and the game came back to equals. Sanchez hold the winning goal till the end of the game.

Season 45 on Man2

Attack Attack 5 managed by the Indonesian Ting Buyung made the double on Man2 winning Elite and Champions Shield. He failed to win his Conference so the managers table goes to Ben Whiteley with the team Adams Apple. Curious that this team lost the two majors with Attack Attack.

Meet The Manager : Chris Holliday

Lets meet another of the top managers on the Charlie server, he is a personal friend of mine, but a bitter rival on SL. Its Chris (ive got every excuse in the book) Holliday who has been playing this game for a couple of years now and is often entrusted with the task of looking after teams on both Charlie and Benny when top managers are away.

'Defiance FC' on Charlie (3-1-1)
'Bakery Legends' on Charlie (2-1-1)

*Bakery Legends are not officially my team but I've been looking after them for many seasons now.

How long have you been playing SL?

I've been on Sunday League since 26th January, 2006.

What was your biggest moment in SL?

Winning the Champion Shield. It was my first major cup victory and I had to get past alot of the 'BIG' teams on my way to the final. I nearly did the Elite Cup & ICC Cup together last season (Charlie season 47) and just missed out on the Manager Table on the Benny server a couple of seasons back when I was babysitting another team so there are some others that come close.

Who’s your biggest rival in SL?

Anybody who does their tactics! :)

There are alot of good managers on Charlie and then there are also some that don't do anything unless they are playing me.. or so it seems!

I'm good friends with Craige Makinson of 'Wanderers FC' offline though so you can throw him in that list. After the robbing I got yesterday from him, I'm putting the ME (Match Engine) in there as well!


What is your favourite team in real life?

Manchester United. Been a fan since Leeds United won the old 1st Division back in 1992. I didn't know Luton Town had a football team at the time (might not for much longer either!) but I still keep an eye on their progress or lack of!

Do you have any hobbies?

I love football although I watch it mostly if I'm not playing in tournaments. I'm getting unfit and too old now to keep running around. I also like darts and used to play it regularly against County players until our team broke up. I'm a bit of a travel fan too and have been to many places across the world including Egypt, Mexico and Brazil. You can learn so much from other cultures. Other than that, it's mostly online games which consist alot of first-person shooters.


What do you like most about SL ?

The same as most people really... the suspense you get when you log in and hope you've won you're games and also the banter you get on the forum. If I'm not the one doing it, I'm usually the one on the end of it!


What are you expecting of S0L08?

Transfer Market needs a major overhaul. It's gone downhill completely since the past year. It would also be handy if they removed the strictness on player positions because it's very hard now if you're new to the game or if you have too many injuries, banned or AWOL players then you're basically out on a limb. It would be nice if you didn't have to play certain tactics for certain weathers as it's completely unrealistic but I guess that adds to the fun!

AstroDevil United came into this match clear favourites to take the title, being the more active team on this fairly small server. But Red Foxes Athletics have a very strong team so take nothing away from them.

It was just the lack of tactics on the day that blew it for Astrodevil United playing 4-5-1 with longball in hot conditions. However, they did have the full 90 minutes in advantage.

I guess Red Foxes Athletic just had the better style and formation and were better on the day.

This is what you got when you have a 5-2-3 game, or this is what you got when you have a so close game...

Everything was so close in this game. Stats, tactics, formation etc. The only difference was the advantage that kallepaavojuhani had between minutes 60 and 75. 15 minutes its not enough, especially with teams playing 5-2-3 formation, to score a goal. The only goal in this game came to the Ravens after 33 minutes of equal tactics. kallepaavojuhani must be crying after 2 days that this game was played, but winning and losing its part of the game.

Started playing sometime in 2006 when my son was playing Sunday League. I actually started spending money on the game in dec 06. Unfortunatly by that time I was hooked.

What was your biggest moment in SL?
I cant decide really,probably the Elite cup on smokey in my second season while I was still in 2-1-4.Lol. Also the Elite cups and ICC on Oscar.
But the one I most like to win is the super league of Oscar 3-1-1!!!!!!!!

Who´s your biggest rival in SL?
To many rivals to mention! But the hardest team to beat has got to be Coro Street Rovers on Oscar! I took a day off to celabrate when I knocked him out of a Major last season.Also every team in 3-1-1 + Marv, Jester ,Flori, Sandy,Beermonster Icould go on...Lol

What is your favourite team in real life?
Chelsea The only team in London.

Do you have any hobbies?
Hobbies are reading, getting to a chelsea game now and then, and of course drinking Stella!
Oh and SL lol.

What does attract you more on SL ?
The forums and banter. And the Rivalry on 3-1-1.

Season 42 on Spurs

We have to admit that that Golfing Season (merlin) managed by Derek Bayly was the manager of the season. Even using 4-5-1 with longball he won the Champions Shield, Elite Cup and was present in the ICC final. But on his conference he was smashed by the real winner of the managers table, VCFC (gibsingles) managed by Paul Singleton. Both teams came from Conference 1 that seems to be the strongest.

There is something strange in this report. As some of you know when we are playing longball with just one striker in front its harder to score.
It was not the case, Golfing Season did that and did not see his team being punished for playing longball with one striker. 3 periods of advantage and three goals scored. We also have to say that D Squad stats are very low comparing to the Golfing team and speaking in tactics Golfing Season deserved to win this game very well.

These mistakes will cost you harder if it was another server...

It feels like since the dawn of time... joined in may 2002 .


What was your biggest moment in SL?
There have been so many-winning the cml league in my first season in it was pretty special. Winning any of the major trophies on the Charlie server especially with the quality of managers around at present is a good feeling


Who’s your biggest rival in SL?
There are so many good managers around. I think rowan with his Scarlett pimpernels are probably the toughest side around and have been consistently dominant for the last 7 seasons. Always good to get a win against him. Other major pains in the backside include hellsnear rangers,stonehenge,,lucifers dragons,wanderers fc,defiance fc,crazy gang,amethyst, and who could forget dear old icky with his lowes A..I ve always had a good rivalry with Piers aka Blackecho who sadly isn’t competing on the Charlie server at the moment but I m sure with reappear to try to make my life more miserable


What is your favourite team in real life?
The mighty Ramsgate of course. They are the scourge Ryman isthmian premier league. Hopefully with no champions league games to distract them next season the y will finally win promotion to the Conference. I also watch Gillingham who seem to be nose diving out of the league. For some quality football I go and watch man united 3 or 4 times a season


Do you have any hobbies?
I love to travel. I m addicted to going to China. On my travels I met a lovely girl there and got married in canton in May 2008.I m also a big movie fan and collect DVDs etc.
I love my football too and will watch any game at any standard. Some people are born for greatness others have to accept watching non league football on a cold wet winters evening. Supporting Ramsgate its something you learn to live with


What attracts you more on SL ?
Its a very addictive game and I enjoy the banter


What are you expecting of S0L08?
I m hoping for a better transfer market. Its been completely pants for a long time. Hopefully the friendly league can be improved too. I d also like Sunday league to introduce a champions league style comp with the top 2 sides from the 8 conference 1 divisions playing off for the ultimate bragging rights of being the top manager on the server. Above all I hope SL 08 runs smoothly without any glitches

Some tough draws in the quarter finals, The Scarlet Pimpernels will probably be the happiest with there draw. Last years winners Bakery Legends are already out so we are guaranteed a new name on the trophy. The rule goes; If The Scarlet Pimpernels make it to a final they win. Can anybody buck this trend? My prediction is a Stonehenge FC v Scarlet Pimpernels final, but ive been wrong plenty of times before!

Starting Platin SL about 4 years ago, gave up for about year n half and restarted about 5 months ago, ready to reclaim my rightful place as king of Felix......

C/S final in my 1st ever season 4yrs ago, lost 3-2 in extra time but hey you cant win em all...

5.Who's your biggest rival on SL

2 Rivals really, Redhill Rovers & Stella Junkies, a few could make the list, but as i know these two toerags, it always adds extra spice!!!

Single now, so shag as many birds as possible.

8.What do you like about playing SL

Prefer setting up comps and having a laugh as opposed to playing, but i suppose the simplicity, not too taxing on the brain.
